WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI- For the second time this season the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (36-28) took down the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (29-35) at the Rafters home ballpark, this time a score of 5-4.

Rapids got off to a quick lead 3-0 after two innings of play.

The Dock Spiders had one really big inning which came in the 3rd. Mitch Boe (Iowa) led things off with a base hit up the middle then Kiambu Fentress (Vanderbilt) would pick up one of his own. The bases would get loaded when Alex Henwood (Nebraska) would reach on one of his three walks on the day.

Alex Erro (Northwestern) would come up the clutch with a two RBI double decreasing the deficit to one. Cole Zabowski (Ole Miss) grounded into the left side of the infield but would pick up an RBI on the play making the game tied at 3-3. With two outs in the inning and a runner on Tyler Wardwell (Duke) was able to send home the fourth run of the ball game giving Fondy a 5-4 lead.

During the bottom half of the 3rd the game would be paused for one hour and forty minutes due to a rain delay.

Wisconsin was able to tie the game at 4-4 in the 5th and the score would stay the same until the 8th.

With the bases loaded in the 9th it would be another clutch effort from Alex Erro (Northwestern). Erro’s second knock of the day and his third RBI would prove to be the winning run.

Fond du Lac will head back to Witter Field tomorrow to square off against the Rafter for one more meeting this season. First pitch at 4:05 PM.
