FOND DU LAC, WI – The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders have added a new member to their front office staff.  Marcus Wiegert has been named Director of Business and Community Development. Marcus will work with companies in Fond du Lac and the surrounding area to help grow their businesses via sponsorship, season tickets, and group outings at the ballpark.  He will also work with local churches, schools, youth sports teams, and non-profit organizations in helping to set up group outings at the ballpark.

“I am excited to be joining Ryan, Chris and the rest of the staff. I have always had great respect for the Dock Spiders/Timber Rattlers organization since interning with the Timber Rattlers in 2007.”, said Wiegert.  “The Dock Spiders bring great value and entertainment to the Fond du Lac community. I look forward to sharing the #SpinTheWeb brand with others.”

Wiegert, joins the Dock Spiders after spending eight years at Marian University. While at Marian, Wiegert worked in a variety of different areas on-campus including information technology, undergraduate admissions and athletics. Most recently, in the athletic department he helped lead the men’s and women’s tennis programs along with assisting the men’s basketball program. Over the past eight years, he has had a heavy hand in assisting with the recruitment of students and student-athletes to Marian.

A native of Deerbrook, Wisconsin, Wiegert was a 2008 graduate of Marian University with a degree in sport and recreation management and a minor in information technology. In August of 2016, Wiegert earned his master’s degree in Sports Management from Lasell College. He and his wife, Nicole, currently reside in Fond du Lac.

 

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League. Now in its 25th anniversary season, the Northwoods League is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 20 teams, drawing significantly more fans, in a friendly ballpark experience, than any league of its kind.
