Fond du Lac Dock Spiders get back on the winning train with a 3-2 victory over the Battle Creek Bombers.
Connor Cook (UW-La Crosse) threw a gem of six shutout innings with five strikeouts. Cook held a 1-0 lead through six before handing it off to the bullpen.
Jack Owens (Santa Ana College) came in for an inning and two-thirds and striking out three.
Nathan Thomas (Northern Illinois) came in for the four out save and secured the 3-2 win.
Max Downs (St. Xavier) started off the scoring with an RBI single in the first inning. Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina) came through with an RBI double in the sixth.
In the seventh Cherokee LeBeau (Oakland) doubled to start the seventh inning and would later come around to score on a wild pitch.
The Dock Spiders pitching staff combined for 12 strikeouts and allowed two runs, one earned, and now sit at 2-1 on the year.
The Dock Spiders are back up against the Bombers tomorrow night at 6:05 PM CST.
