FOND DU LAC, WI– The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (6-3) took on the Wisconsin Woodchucks (5-4) and it came down to the final frame. After losing on a walk off the night before to the Green Bay Booyah, the Dock Spiders decided to have their own celebration.

Connor Cook (UW-La Crosse) started the game and gave up a quick two runs in the first inning of work, and then settled in for the rest of his outing. Cook went seven strong and allowed two earned runs while striking out seven.

A lead off single from Andrew Schleusner (Montana State Billings) in the bottom of the fifth would get things started for the Dock Spiders. Schleusner would move all the way around the bases and finally come home and score the first run on a wild pitch.

Then in the bottom of the sixth another lead off man got on. Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina) had three hits to his credit tonight and would come home and tie the game up on a Zack Prajzner (Notre Dame) sac fly.

Ryan Miller (Benedictine) came in for the last two innings and gave up a run in the eighth to put the Dock Spiders behind 3-2. The Dock Spiders would threaten with two men on in the bottom of the eighth. But they couldn’t capitalize.

In the bottom of the ninth the Dock Spiders loaded the bases up with one out and it was up to Drew Hmielewski (Minnesota), as he delivered a ground ball down the first base line to score two runs and win the game 4-3.

Next up for the Dock Spiders is tomorrow night at 6:35 PM CST against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
