FOND DU LAC, WI– The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (9-10) and the Lakeshore Chinooks (6-14) went at it in game two of their four game series and the Dock Spiders bats were hot tonight. A 5-1 victory for the Dock Spiders.

Jonathan Cowles (Colorado-Colorado Springs) got the ball and he was dominant. Cowles went five and two-thirds of pure dominance. He kept the Chinooks off the scoreboard and kept his offense in the game.

It may have been a chilly night in Fondy, but the bats heated up in the fifth. A leadoff triple by Cam McMillan (Vanderbilt) would spark the offense. Charlie Maxwell (Northwestern) would follow with an RBI single to score McMillan.

Duncan Hunter (Jacksonville) had a base hit after Maxwell. Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina) would square up for a sac bunt until the Chinooks botched the play and threw it away to score another run.

Tim Elko (Mississippi) grounded out to second base to score another run. Kellen Sarver (Illinois) would join in with an RBI single himself. Andrew Schleusner (Montana State Billings) would cap off the inning with an RBI single.

It was a five run fifth inning for the Dock Spiders and that’s all they needed. River Carbone (Arizona Christian) would come on for two and a thirds innings of work and strike out five in the seven batters he faced.

The Dock Spiders won in front of the home crowd on Local Heroes Night and now hit the road for a four game roadtrip. They get set to face the Chinooks tomorrow for a 1:35 PM CST first pitch.
