MADISON, WI— The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (13-17) took on the Madison Mallards (21-10). It was an early slugfest for the two teams.

 

The Mallards struck for four runs in the bottom of the first and knocked out Aaron Ball Jr. (Kankakee). The Dock Spiders would not be defeated after a rough first inning.

 

The offense would respond with a five run third inning. Multiple RBI hits by the Dock Spiders.

 

Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina) delivered an RBI single. Aaron Anderson (Flagler) and Luke Robinson (Western Carolina) both had RBI singles in the inning as well.

 

Tim Elko (Mississippi) would tack a two-run double on the board as well. The Dock Spiders would lead 5-4.

 

In the fourth Kellen Sarver (Illinois) would tack on an RBI double and give the Dock Spiders had a 6-4 lead.

 

The Mallards would threaten to take the game back, as they added a run back and left the bases loaded to prevent any further damage.

 

A big fifth inning would be the dagger in the Mallards. After a run was walked in to make it 7-5.

 

It was up to Bullock with bases loaded and two outs. He would deliver the grand slam and secure the 11-5 lead.

 

Connor Dryer (Central Missouri) and Max Cioffi (Mississippi) would finish out the game on the mound.

 

The Dock Spiders end their three game skid with dominant offense. They’re back home tomorrow night against the Mallards.

 

First pitch slated for 6:35 PM CST as it’s also “Girls Night Out” at the ballpark.
