WAUSAU, WI— The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (14-22) ended the first half of their season with the Wisconsin Woodchucks (18-18) with a loss. The Woodchucks took a 4-1 victory over the Dock Spiders.

It was Kyle Hall (Indiana Wesleyan) who got the start tonight as the Dock Spiders tested out the “opener” idea. Hall gave up three runs with only one of those being earned in the first inning.

Aaron Funk (Arkansas Little-Rock) came in to follow Hall. He would deal for seven innings and only allowing one run which was unearned.

The offense struggled all game even after putting 13 runs on the board the night before. They had a runner on base in seven of the nine innings, but couldn’t get the job done.

The timely hits weren’t there tonight. A lot of runners left on base.

The Dock Spiders would get runners on, but normally it would be with two outs.

The only run would come across the board after Sam Novitske (Oregon) would rope a double down the line to score Luke Robinson (Western Carolina).

The Dock Spiders hit the road tomorrow night for a 6:05 PM CST first pitch in Green Bay.
