FOND DU LAC, WI– The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (3-1) sweep the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (2-2) in a tight 4-2 ball game.

It was a pitchers duel all night. Connor Cook (UW-La Crosse) and Matt Osteberg were magnificent for each team. Cook would dominate through five innings keeping his offense in the game.

They would score a fourth inning run off Cook and thats all he would allow. The offense answered with a two run inning in the sixth to take the lead 2-1.

A big two out double by Zeb Adreon (Iowa) would score the runs in the sixth for the Dock Spiders.

The pitching would hold that lead all the way until the eighth. John Snyder (Western Carolina) would shut down a potential big seventh inning against the Rafters by leaving the bases loaded.

Then in the eighth Snyder would run into some trouble again this time allowing a run off of an error committed by the Dock Spiders.

They would go to the bottom of the eighth all tied up at two. Neither pitching staff looking to give in.

After a one out double by Adreon set the Dock Spiders up with second and third. It was Andrew Bullock (Western Carolina) who would come off the bench and put the game away.

A pinch-hit, two out, two run single by Bullock would give the Dock Spiders the lead. Then it was up to Max Cioffi (Mississippi) to get the final three outs.

After allowing the lead off man to get on, he would allow no other runner reach base and seal the 4-2 victory.

The Dock Spiders have now won three in a row. They ride into a 1:05 PM CST first pitch against the Wisconsin Woodchucks to try and extend their streak.
