FOND DU LAC, WI– The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (7-9) and the Madison Mallards (8-8) split the two game series on a close 4-2 ball game. The Dock Spiders offense couldn’t pull through today.

Houston Glad (Texas Wesleyan) got the nod and only had one blemish of an inning. A three run third inning was the only struggle for Glad as he would settle in after that and go to the fifth.

The Dock Spiders were silenced offensively through three innings. They would strand four runners on through the first three.

Until a fourth inning home run by Luke Robinson (Western Carolina) got the first hit and first run of the game for them. Another battle in the seventh would chop down the deficit to one run.

Otto Grimm (Minnesota) would deliver an RBI single to cut it to 3-2 in the seventh. The bullpen for the Dock Spiders would run into trouble in the eighth.

The Mallards would score a run in the eighth on a hit batter and that would suck the air out of the offense for the Dock Spiders. They would go six up and six down the last two innings.

The Dock Spiders hit the road to face the Wisconsin Woodchucks tomorrow night for a 6:35 PM CST first pitch.
