Late Rally Falls Short

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI— The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (11-12) and the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (15-8) went four hours to decide the fate of the game. The Dock Spiders were never really in the game until the eighth inning.

Houston Glad (Texas Wesleyan) struggled against the Rafters offense. As they would tag six runs off him in just two innings pitched.

The Rafters would add seven more runs to take a 13-1 lead all the way to the eighth. The Dock Spiders didn’t have a hit or run after the first inning.

They went into the eighth trying to spark some magic from the night befores comeback. They would score three runs and then load the bases.

Zeb Adreon (Iowa) would smash a grand slam to cut the deficit to 13-8. A couple more runs came in and the game was within three.

The Dock Spiders put nine runs on the board to trail 13-10. But a two run home run in the bottom of the eighth took away all their built up momentum.

The Dock Spiders lost the game 15-10. They face the Rafters for the final time tomorrow at 1:05 PM.
