FOND DU LAC, WI– The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders (16-13) make it three in a row against the Kalamazoo Growlers. The Growlers dropped now five in a row.

Both teams are battling for a playoff spot in the second half.

Evan Sankey (North Dakota St.) got the start and he was absolutely masterful tonight. He threw eight innings with 12 strikeouts and one walk, while allowing two runs.

The Growlers had no answer for him offensively, as they were playing from behind right from the start. A first inning run would come across after a fielders choice off the bat of Tim Elko (Mississippi).

In the third the Dock Spiders would add two more to the board after Zeb Adreon (Iowa) delivered an RBI single. Another fielders choice from Tate Kolwyck (Vanderbilt) would drive in their third run.

The very next inning it was Otto Grimm (Minnesota) with the two run single to make it a 5-0 game. In the eighth the Growlers would break the shutout up and score two on the board.

Aaron Funk (Arkansas-Little Rock) came in for the save and won the game for the Dock Spiders 5-2.

The Dock Spiders will take on the Growlers tomorrow afternoon at 1:05 PM. First 500 fans will get a “Championship Can Coozie.”
