MADISON, WI— The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders improve to eight wins in a row as they blow out the Madison Mallards 13-5. It was an offensive assault tonight.

It all started with six runs coming across in the first inning. A two run double by Tate Kolwyck (Vanderbilt) would get them on the board first.

Then it was Zeb Adreon (Iowa) with the RBI single to make it 3-0. Ryan Sepede (BYU) delivered his own RBI single after Kolwyck scored on a passed ball.

A Charlie Maxwell (Northwestern) sacrifice fly would complete the six run inning. The Mallards wouldn’t go quietly as they would slowly creep back into the game.

They went as far as cutting the deficit all the way down to two going into the seventh inning. Then it was Kolwyck with a crushing two-run homerun to make it 9-5.

A four run eighth inning would just be the final dagger in the Mallards. Adreon would get another RBI single to make it 10-5.

Then a three-run homerun by Sepede would make it 13-5. And the Dock Spiders Evan Sankey (North Dakota St.) and Brock Weirather (Grinnell) would work in tandem off the mound in completing the victory.

The Dock Spiders sit a half game back of the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. It all comes down to tomorrow. A Dock Spiders win and Rafters loss seals the deal for the Dock Spiders playoff hopes.

We need the “Fondy Faithfuls” to come out in full force for the final regular season game of the season. First pitch against the Mallards is set for 1:05.
