The Dock Spiders will play 48 total games in the 2020 season with 24 on the road and 24 at home. Fondy finished last year just outside the playoff picture, ending their season on a nine-game winning streak with an overall record of 36-35.
Zac Charbonneau will be returning for his fourth season at the helm, while Craig Thieleke (Hitting Coach) and Ryan Gaynor (Pitching Coach) will make their debuts with the team on Wednesday.
Fond du Lac will have nine returning players this season: Aaron Anderson (1B, Liberty), Andrew Jack (P, St. Charles Community College), Sam Novitske (2B, Oregon), Tate Kolwyck (2B, Vanderbilt), Tim Elko (1B, Mississippi), Ryan Duffy (P, Minnesota), Jack Alexander (Austin Peay), Nate Thomas (P, Northern Illinois), and Andrew Bullock (1B, Charleston Southern) are all set to be a part of the 2020 squad. Bullock, has played all four years of his Northwoods League baseball career in Fond du Lac. He said, “It’s exciting to be back on the field…I know everyone in the clubhouse is excited to get back out here.” A player staying in the league for four years is uncommon, but Bullock credits manager Charbonneau, explaining that ” he’s a player’s first coach and always wants the best for the players…a coach like him and the atmosphere we have in the locker room every year has kept me here.”
