FOND DU LAC, WI – Behind a strong pitching performance, the Kenosha Kingfish defeated the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 10-5 on Sunday afternoon at Herr-Baker field. Brock Weirather pitched seven strong innings and limited the Dock Spiders to just one run through the first seven frames, allowing the Kingfish offense to take a commanding lead. Despite posting back-to-back two frames in both the eighth and ninth innings, Fond du Lac was not able to overcome the deficit and fell in the two teams’ first meeting of the 2021 Northwoods League season.

  • In the first inning, Chandler Simpson and Jackson Loftin put on a double-steal, allowing Loftin to advance to second and Simpson to come home and score
  • Later in the ninth, Aaron Chapman bashed a two-RBI double down the first base line to score both Seth Sweet-Chick and Christian McKelvey

  • Chapman picked up his fifth RBI in his lone at-bat of the game after entering the lineup later in the game
  • Eamonn Woods made his Dock Spiders pitching debut on Sunday, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing two hits and one earned run while striking out two Kingfish batters
