FOND DU LAC, WI – In the matchup of Great Lakes division first-half winners, the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders defeated the Traverse City Pit Spitters, 5-4, in the first game of their two-game series.

  • McGwire Holbrook started off his 4-4 night in the first inning with an RBI double to score Jackson Loftin from first base
  • Later in the fourth, Seth Sweet-Chick connected on an RBI double down the left-field line to bring home Jay Harry
  • Holbrook gave the Dock Spiders the go-ahead run in the seventh on his second RBI hit in the win

  • Connor McKenna threw 6.0 innings out of the bullpen, earning the win, allowing one earned run on four hits and totaling six strikeouts to two walks
  • Holbrook had his best offensive game of the season, finishing 4-4 with two RBI and one double
