WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI – The first game of a scheduled doubleheader at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids was cut short due to rain, however the Dock Spiders were still able to win their seventh game of the second half season. In six innings, the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders defeated the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, 3-1. 

Note: Play was suspended and ultimately completed in the bottom of the seventh inning, however due to NWL rules citing that a full inning must be completed to officially count, the final score and statistics revert back to the conclusion of the sixth inning.

Key Plays

  • To give Fond du Lac an early 1-0 lead in the first inning, Matt McCormick picked up his fifth RBI of the season with a single to centerfield
  • Later in the fourth, Jay Harry lifted a two-RBI double down the right field line to score both McCormick and Tavian Josenberger

Key Players

  • Not only did McCormick totaled two RBI in the win, he also scored two runs as part of his 2-3 performance
  • In their final games with Fond du Lac, Jay Harry finished 2-3 with two RBI and Ben Gorski earned the win by tossing 2.0 scoreless innings of no-hit baseball to the Rafters in relief action
