FOND DU LAC, WI –The Dock Spiders snapped their two-game losing skid on Sunday afternoon as they bested the Chinooks 8-4. The Dock Spiders got the bats going early on as they scored four runs in the bottom of the first, capped off by a three-run home run from catcher Lorenzo Rios (Presbyterian), his first of the season, which gave the Dock Spiders a 4-0 lead. The Chinooks put two runs together in the top of the second inning which cut the Dock Spiders lead to two runs, but the Dock Spiders answered in the bottom of the inning as Jack Gorman (Presbyterian) grounded out, but right fielder Paul Wittmann (West Texas A&M) scored which padded the Dock Spiders lead. The Dock Spiders tallied two more runs in the bottom of the fifth but the Chinooks weren’t done just yet. An RBI triple off the bat of Chinooks right fielder Adam Cootway (Wisconsin-Whitewater) cranked an RBI triple that scored centerfielder Drew Townsend (Missouri State) and then another RBI single to left field scored Cootway. The Dock Spiders relied on the bullpen down the stretch as Jack Niedringhaus (Xavier) and Zach Silfies (Elizabethtown) carried the load through the later innings as they kept the lead intact. A flyout to Connor Cooney in the top of the ninth sealed the deal as the Dock Spiders took the 8-4 victory.

Dock Spiders starter Amar Tsengeg (Texas-Dallas) received the win, his second of the season, while Chinooks starter Griffin Smith (Rock Valley) was tagged with his first loss of the season.
