FOND DU LAC, WI – The Dock Spiders notched their fourth straight win on Sunday afternoon as they bested the Mallards 4-1. The Dock Spiders started the game on a good note as they scored one run in the bottom of the first inning off an RBI sacrifice fly from Parker Knoll (Lawrence). Dock Spiders starting pitcher Justin Doyle (Northwestern) held the Mallards offense at bay, until he exited the game with shoulder tightness. Reliever Eric Sipling (Rochester Institute of Tech.) was called in from the bullpen and delivered five and two thirds’ innings of one run ball. The Dock Spiders struck again in the bottom of the fourth as designated hitter Barron Zamora (Washington) launched a two-run home run (second of the season) which gave the Dock Spiders a 3-0 lead. In the bottom of the fifth, the Dock Spiders scored again as Drew Barragan (Embry Riddle Aeronautical) ripped an RBI single that scored Parker Knoll and put the Dock Spiders in front 4-0. The Mallards scored one run in the top of the eighth as Davis Hamilton (North Dakota State) hit a solo home run to right field. The Dock Spiders ended the game on a 5-4-3 groundout double play to Graiden West (Rice). Dock Spiders centerfielder Travis Strickler (Embry Riddle Aeronautical) has now passed Andrew Bullock for the third most hits in franchise history and is now leading the Northwoods League in hits with 67 hits this season. The current record belongs to Nick Mitchell from 2022 with 89.

Dock Spiders reliever Eric Sipling received the win, his second of the season. Mallards starter Andrew Guardino (Tennessee Tech) was tagged with his second loss of the season. Kade Walker registered his second save of the season. The Dock Spiders improved to 27-33 on the season, 14-11 in the second half. With the win, The Dock Spiders are now tied with the Mallards for first place in the Great Lakes West Division as the Mallards sit in first. The Dock Spiders will be back at home on Monday night as they take on the Green Bay Rockers. It’s Season Ticket Holder & Host Family Appreciation night at Herr-Baker Field. The Dock Spiders will say “Thank You” to season ticket holders & host families for their support throughout the season.
