The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers were presented with Marian University’s Entrepreneur of the Year award at the 36th annual Business & Industry Dinner in Fond du Lac earlier this week.
The Timber Rattlers were recognized for the award as the owners of the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders, a team that played its inaugural season in the Northwoods League. The award notes that the Timber Rattlers “were responsible for the major renovation to [Marian] University’s Herr-Baker Field baseball stadium. Their mission is simple: to create the best entertainment experience in Wisconsin, so every guest walks away with a smile and a desire to return.”
“We had an opportunity to bring our brand of family entertainment to Fond du Lac and we took the chance,” said Timber Rattlers president Rob Zerjav. “The fans, the city, and the university responded in a way that makes us extremely pleased that we took the leap of faith.”
The award is presented to companies or individuals who have taken the risk and unique challenges of creating a business and done so successfully. Award winners stand out for having created a product or service that previously was not offered or was not offered in the unique way the award winner offers it.
“Our first season was outstanding and we are honored to be recognized for this award,” said Dock Spiders general manager Ryan Moede. “We are already hard at work in preparation for our 2018 season to make it bigger and better for our fans.”
