Douglas Coe will begin his third season as Dock Spiders field manager in 2025. He was named the third field manager in Dock Spiders history prior to the 2023 season.

Coe is a Fox Valley native and has been the Head Baseball Coach at Moravian University (Bethlehem, Pa.) since July 2022. The Appleton, Wis. native played in the Northwoods League in 2004 for the Wisconsin Woodchucks and in 2005 for the Eau Claire Express. He also served as a coach in 2020 and 2021 for the Rockford Rivets.

Prior to arriving at Moravian University, Coe served as Assistant Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at SUNY Cortland for two seasons where he helped the Red Dragons to a pair of trips to the NCAA Division III Regionals and a trip to the Division III Baseball Championships in 2021. He also spent three seasons on the staff at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, his alma mater. Coe’s coaching experience also includes four seasons as an assistant coach at Lawrence (Wis.) University and two seasons as Head Coach at Notre Dame Academy in Green Bay. During the summer of 2019, Coe coached professionally with the Gary Southshore RailCats in the American Association.

As a student-athlete at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Coe helped the program to a fifth-place finish at the 2006 NCAA Division III World Series, a third-place showing in 2007, and a trip to the NCAA Regionals in 2008. As a senior in 2008, Coe, a catcher, was named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Position Player of the Year, a First Team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association and a Second Team All-American by D3baseball.com. He was also inducted into the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Hall of Fame in 2018.

Coe graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and coaching and earned a master’s degree in athletic administration from Ohio University in 2017. He resides in Northampton, Pa. with his wife, Marcy, and daughter, Kinsley.

Sam Fonder – Pitching Coach

Sam Fonder will begin his second season as the Dock Spiders Pitching Coach in 2025. The Green Bay native is currently working towards earning a doctorate degree in sport psychology from Florida State University. He also currently serves as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Thomas County Central High School (GA). Fonder spent 2023-24 as the Mental Performance Consultant with Florida A&M University Baseball. Prior to arriving at Florida State, Fonder spent two seasons as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Springfield College (MA) where he earned his master’s in sport and exercise psychology. He also spent three seasons as an Assistant Coach with Ashwaubenon Legion Baseball (WI). Fonder graduated from St. Norbert College (WI) in 2021, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and was a three-year letterwinner and team captain with the Green Knights baseball program. This followed his prep career at Green Bay East High School (WI).

Mark Nofri – Hitting Coach

Mark Nofri enters his first season as the Dock Spiders Hitting Coach in 2025. The New England native graduates in the spring of 2025 with a Masters in Athletic Leadership from Springfield College (MA). He is currently serving on the Springfield Baseball Staff as a Graduate Assistant Coach in the 2024-25 season, primarily working with hitters and outfielders. Before coaching at Springfield, he also served as a Head Coach for the 18U Powerhouse Bulldogs in the summer of 2024 (AAU), and the summer beforehand as an assistant coach (2023). Nofri graduated from Springfield College with a bachelor’s degree in Movement and Sports Studies in 2023, where he played outfield for five seasons under Head Coach Mark Simeone. During his undergrad, Nofri had the opportunity for a semester-long internship at “The Clubhouse,” where he worked under Milwaukee Brewers Associate Scout and Clubhouse Owner Mike Porzio. During his time there, he directly worked with player development, administration duties, and data analysis for players ranging from youth to high school, college, and professional. Before attending Springfield College, Nofri attended Naugatuck High School in his hometown of Naugatuck, CT.
