The Kalamazoo Growlers hit the road for the second time in franchise history to take on the Green Bay Bullfrogs in a South Division matchup on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5. Both games will be played at 8:05 p.m. EST 

After a five-game win streak, the Growlers (5-3) dropped both games against the Lakeshore Chinooks at home on Monday and Tuesday. The team saw a spike in offensive production during the win streak, averaging nine runs per game.

The bats cooled off when the Chinooks (6-2) came into Kalamazoo. The Growlers only put up three runs during the final two games of the home stand, as the Chinooks pitching overpowered the Growlers bats.

The Growlers finished the first homestand in franchise history with a 3-2 record, but nearly 5,000 fans came out to Homer Stryker Field for Opening Night, setting a Northwoods League record for the highest attendence for a new franchise on Opening Night.

The Growlers look to get back to their winning ways against the Bullfrogs (5-3), who are currently tied with the Growlers and the Madison Mallards, the defending Northwoods League champions.

The Bullfrogs come home after a four-game road trip against LaCrosse Loggers and Duluth Huskies, where they went 3-1 to bring the team back over the .500 mark. Matt Beaty (Belmont) currently leads the Bullfrogs with a .357 batting average over 28 at-bats. The senior is also tied for third in the Northwoods League with two home runs. 

The strength of the Bullfrogs' pitching comes from their bullpen. In relief appearances this season, the Bullfrogs have allowed six earned runs over 29 2/3 innings, good for a 2.02 ERA. Seven different pitchers have yet to allow an earned run this season, so the Growlers offense will have it cut out for them heading into Green Bay for Wednesday.

Growlers shortstop John Rubino (Eastern Michigan) is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak, picking up a hit in each game except the season opener. Ten different Growlers currently hold a batting average above .300 as well.
