La Crosse, Wis. – Jack Meggs will be making his first trip to La Crosse as a Logger this summer. Jack is the son of Lindsay and Teresa Meggs. Lindsay is the current University of Washington head baseball coach.  The outfielder is a freshman and intends to major in sociology or communications at Washington.  Jack's brother Joe, played for the 2012 Northwoods League Champion Loggers and has signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers Organization.  Jack's sister, Kelly, is also a collegiate athlete playing basketball at UC Irvine.

At Bellevue High School, Jack earned four letters in baseball.  As a senior he hit .349 with 18 runs and 11 RBI.  He elevated his game in conference play earning all 11 of his RBI and hitting for a .407 average and stole 13 bases while leading his team to a 12-2 conference record.  He also played on the Royals' Area Code team with fellow Husky, and incoming Logger, Mitch Bevacqua.  Jack was named to the All-King-Co Baseball team four times and was named to the Second-Team Perfect Game West All-Region as a senior.  In 2013, he was named to the Northwest High School Dream Team.  He played summer ball last year with the Bellingham Bells of the West Coast League where he finished second on the team in extra base hits and steals.  In 2012, he earned Perfect Game Underclass High Honorable Mention.

Jack also earned four letters in football at Bellevue.  As a senior, he earned All-King-Co Conference honors as a quarterback and punter.  He led Bellevue to their fifth consecutive state championship and the 2012 national championship.  His football teammates included Husky linebacker Sean Constantine and UCLA's Myles Jack who earned 2013 Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Freshman of the Year.

The Loggers open the season Tuesday, May 27 at Copeland Park against the Wisconsin Woodchucks at 7:05 p.m.
