La Crosse, Wis. – The Loggers welcome Dallas Baptist infielder, Nash Knight, to the Lumberyard this summer.  Nash is the brother of Austin Knight, a member of the 2009 Loggers.  Nash is the son of Mel and Kathy Knight and is originally from Denton, Texas.  Nash is a Kinesiology major.  

In his sophomore season in 2013, Nash saw action in 57 games, making 54 starts as the everyday shortstop for the Patriots.  He hit .259 with one home run, while driving in 19.  He tied for second on the team with three triples.  

Nash has also played the last two summers with the Matsu Miners of the Alaska Baseball League.  Last season he hit .149 with 12 runs scored, two doubles and five RBI.  In 2012 with the Miners, he hit .231, with three doubles, six RBI and 12 runs. 

In his freshman campaign, Knight appeared in 36 games with 25 starts.  He hit .206 with four doubles while adding a triple.  

Nash earned three letters at Billy Ryan High School in Denton, Texas.  He was named to the 2011 First-Team All-Area and was selected First-Team All-District and First-Team All-Area during his junior year.  As a sophomore, he earned the 2009 District Defensive Player of the Year. 

The Loggers open their season on Tuesday, May 27 at 7:05 against the Wisconsin Woodchucks at Copeland Park.
