La Crosse, Wis. – The Loggers welcome Matt Warren, a right-handed pitcher from Creighton to Copeland Park this summer.  Matt is a sophomore from Omaha, Nebraska.  

Matt has turned in an impressive sophomore season so far.  He has started ten games while appearing in 12.  Matt has a 9-0 record with a miniscule 2.00 ERA.  He has struck out 40 batters while walking just 21 in 76.1 innings.  During his freshman campaign at Creighton, Matt finished 3-3 in 15 games including six starts.  Against SDSU, allowed just one unearned run in 7.2 innings.  Matt served as the Sunday starter for Creighton when they played Dallas Baptist, facing fellow incoming Logger Nash Knight.  

In high school, Matt earned three letters at Skutt Catholic High School.  In those three season, Skutt was 54-28 and finished third-place in the state tournament in 2011 and 2012, as well as a second-place finish in 2010.  As a senior, Matt was 9-0 with a 0.66 ERA and threw complete games in seven of his ten starts.  He also finished with 86 strikeouts in 63.1 innings that season.  Warren holds the Skutt records for complete games in a season (7), ERA (0.66), career strikeouts (345), wins in a season (9), and innings pitched (63.1). He was a First-Team Super State Selection as a senior and was a part of four no-hitters.  Matt was also a threat at the plate during his 2012 season.  He hit .387, and closed the season with eight doubles, one triple and three home runs while driving in 22.  In 2011, he led all classes in strikeouts with 88.  Warren also posted a 1.86 ERA in 56.1 innings and issued just 11 walks.  He was named First-Team Class B All-State by both the Omaha World-Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star following the 2011 and 2012 seasons.  Matt was selected to represent Team Midwest for the 17-under USA National Team Series in Cary, North Carolina. 

The Loggers open the season against the Wisconsin Woodchucks in just 12 days at Copeland Park.  Game time is set for 7:05.
