The La Crosse Loggers winning streak reached seven games Monday night as they swept their four-game homestand and swept the two-game series against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters with a 5-2 victory.

Newly activated Loggers' starter Kevin Roy (Columbia) dazzled Monday.  The Houston native shut down the Rafters and was untouchable, allowing one unearned run on three hits while not allowing a walk and striking out six in six innings.

After the Loggers struck first in the bottom of the second inning as Sulliam Rios Reyes (Kirkwood CC) scored on a wild pitch. Nash Knight (Dallas Baptist) would then hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score left fielder Ryan Kirby (San Diego).

In the third the Loggers would tack on another run when first basemen Marc Frazier (Nicholls State) doubled home center fielder Mike Nadratowski (Grand Valley State).

The Lumbermen scored their last two runs in the bottom of the fifth.  Second basemen Ryne Birk (Texas A&M) stayed hot as he singled into right field to score Knight.  Birk would come around to score on a Rios Reyes single later in the inning.

Nadratowski and Birk had a combined five steals on the night for the Loggers.

Reliever Ty Provencher (Long Beach State) came in for La Crosse and pitched the final three innings to notch the unconventional save.

The Loggers will head to Green Bay Tuesday night as they kick off a two-game series with the Bullfrogs.  First pitch in slated for 7:05 from Joannes Park.
