The La Crosse Loggers won the finale of their two-game road series against the Green Bay Bullfrogs Wednesday night with a 8-6 victory.

Ryne Birk (Texas A&M) got the Loggers on the board in the top of the first inning with a sacrifice fly to center field.  The Bullfrogs would come right back to tie it in the bottom half of the inning on a Ryan Howell groundout.

Loggers' left fielder and Holmen native, Taylor Kohlwey (UW-La Crosse), would help the Loggers regain the lead with an RBI single to score Birk in the top half of the third inning.

The Loggers would take a 3-1 lead into the top of the fourth, when third basemen Nash Knight (Dallas Baptist) gave La Crosse some insurance with a two-run home run.  It was Knight's first home run of the year.  The younger brother of former Logger, Austin Knight, is batting .474 since making his Logger debut last Saturday.

Center fielder Mike Nadratowski (Grand Valley State) would also score later in the inning on a Kohlwey fielder's choice.

After Green Bay would close the Loggers' lead to two runs, reliever Breckin Williams (Missouri), came on to pitch the final 1 2/3 innings to get his fourth save of the season.

Loggers' starter, Adam Cline (Columbia), also gained his second win of the season.  The righty got a quality start, pitching six innings, allowing three runs (all earned), on four hits, while walking one, and striking out eight.

The Loggers return home to Copeland Park to open up a two-game series against the Battle Creek Bombers Thursday night.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 from the Lumberyard.
