The La Crosse Loggers fell for the first time this season to the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, 7-5 in ten innings Friday night. Doing so the Loggers fell a game behind the Lakeshore Chinooks, who split a double header with the Eau Claire Express, in the Northwoods League South Division.

The Loggers fell behind 4-0 when the Rafters scored four runs in the third inning off starter Grant Yost (Sacramento City CC).  Yost lasted just three innings, allowing four runs on five hits with one walk and one strikeout. The Rafters would increase their lead to five runs an inning later. 

The Loggers got on the board with a Marc Frazier (Nicholls State) two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning.  An inning later, Nash Knight (Dallas Baptist) singled home Aaron Knapp (Cal), and Jack Meggs (Washington).  One inning later, Meggs would tie the game up on an RBI single to score Jerrod Bravo (Sacramento City CC).

Reliever, Scott Burke (UCLA), came on in relief and pitched five innings outstanding innings but allowed the Rafters to take the lead on a two-run RBI bloop single by Michael Jurgella (St. Cloud State).

The Logger have four games left in the first half and will head to Battle Creek for a two-game series with the Bombers.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:05.
