One night after shutting out the Green Bay Bullfrogs, the La Crosse Loggers got the favor returned from their Northwoods League rivals.  Green Bay was able to score three runs and that was enough as starter Mike Ellenbest (Saginaw Valley State) pitched eight scoreless innings in the 3-0 win.

Green Bay got three runs, two of which came from an Ivan Vieitez (Lenoir-Rhyne) two-run home run in the top of the second inning.  The third run came on a two-out RBI single from Paul Jacobson (South Dakota State) in the top of the fifth.

It was Ellenbest's night however, as the starter allowed just three hits, with six strikeouts in his eight shutout innings.  The righty earned his second win of the season.

Loggers starter, Blake Stevens (Birmingham-Southern), made his Loggers debut and pitched admirably.  The D3 All-American went five innings, allowing three runs (earned), on six hits, with zero walks, and five strikeouts.

The Loggers will hit the road for the 4th of July, as they head to Wausau for a two-game series with the Wisconsin Woodchucks.  First pitch is set for 7:05 from Athletic Park.
