Rain couldn't stop the La Crosse Loggers as they trounced the Battle Creek Bombers 14-2 Monday night from Copeland Park.

The Loggers trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the second inning when they scored three runs off Battle Creek starter, Dillion Engle (Lake County).  The fun started when Mitch Bevacqua (Washington) scored on a Brody Weiss (UC-Santa Barbara) double.  Later in the inning Weiss would score on a Nash Knight (Dallas Baptist) grounder.  Jack Meggs (Washington) would also score on a wild pitch.

The Loggers would tack on another run in the sixth to go up 5-2 before a 48 minute rain delay stopped play.  After the rain delay the Loggers added nine runs in the bottom of the eighth to blow the game open.

Loggers starter, Scott Burke (UCLA), put together a quality start in his first start of the season.  Burke's final line was six innings pitched, two runs (earned), on six hits, with one walk, and three strikeouts.

Loggers will now go on a four-game roadtrip starting with a two-game series in Kenosha with the Kingfish beginning tomorrow.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 from Simmons Field.
