The Loggers made it two wins in a row with a 6-1 victory over the Madison Mallards Saturday evening from Copeland Park.  It was the Loggers first win over their rivals in seven attempts.

The Loggers got the party started by scoring twice in the bottom of the first inning, when Nash Knight (Dallas Baptist) scored on a Kevin Zak (Grand Valley State) double.  Ryne Birk (Texas A&M) would then score on a sacrifice fly by Mike Nadratowski (Grand Valley State).

Ty Provencher (Long Beach State) was amazing to say the least in his last start of the season.  The right-hander went seven scoreless innings allowing just four hits while walking two and striking out four.

La Crosse then broke it out in the bottom of the seventh.  After a Jerrod Bravo (Sacramento City CC) lead-off double, Aaron Knapp (California) attempting to bunt him over to third.  Madison reliever, Andrew Buckley (California), threw the ball away trying to throw out the speedy Knapp allowing Bravo to score.  Then right fielder Connor Marabell (Jacksonville) threw the ball away again trying to throw Knapp out at third, allowing him to come all the way around to score.  Jack Meggs (Washington) and Knight would score again later in the inning on another Zak double.

Reliever, Zack Walsh (Valparaiso), allowed a solo home run to Marabell but was able to close the door in the eighth and ninth to preserve the win.

The Loggers and Mallards will conclude their two-game series Sunday evening at Copeland Park.  First pitch is scheduled for 5:05.
