The Loggers couldn't finish off their late rally as they fell to the Kalamazoo Growlers by a score of 7-6 from Copeland Park Wednesday night.

The Loggers were down 7-3 heading into the eighth when Ryan Kirby (San Diego) smoked a two-run home run to right field to pull the Loggers within two runs.  La Crosse would continue the hitting when Aaron Knapp (California) checked swinged a single to right field to score Mitch Bevacqua (Washington).

Knapp had a wonderful night going 2-4 with one run scored and two RBI's.  Knapp led the game off with a solo home run to right field to get the Loggers on the board.

Grand Valley State products Kevin Zak, and Mike Nadratowski would both single to start off the ninth off Kalamazoo closer. John Schreiber (Northwestern Ohio), but Brandon Wessels (Buena Vista) and Kirby would both strikeout and would be all up to Bevacqua. Mitch ripped a ball out to the deepest part of the ballpark in center but it was caught by center fielder, Kory Brown (Bowling Green).

Both teams will now head to Kalamazoo for a two-game series beginning Thursday.  First pitch is set for 6:05 CT.
