ALEXANDRIA, MN – The La Crosse Loggers stayed perfect on their current road trip by topping the Alexandria Blue Anchors 6-0 on Sunday evening in Alexandria, Minn. to win their fourth consecutive game.
Newly arrived starter Ryan Marks (Columbia) kept the Blue Anchors bats silent over five innings of shutout baseball, allowing only two hits while walking three and striking out four to earn the victory. Liam Carter (Missouri) tossed a pair of scorelees innings of dominant relief, striing out five and Lance Thonvold (Minnesota) followed with the final two innings of shutout relief as well.
Brock Lundquist (Long Beach State) led the Loggers 10-hit attack with three doubles and four RBI's. Jordan Zimmerman (MIchigan State) also had a pair of safeties and scored three of the six runs and Alex Merrritt (North Florida) recorded a pair of hits as well.
With the win the Loggers improved to 7-6 on the season. The same two teams will meet again on Monday night for the series finale. Air time on the Loggers Radio Network is 6:30 p.m. with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
