LA CROSSE, WI- After a beautiful day for game 1, game 2 has been officially postponed due to rain. Tonight's game would have been the last game of the first-half for the Loggers. La Crosse finishes the month of June with a 19-15 overall record and as of right now, 2 games behind the division-leading Green Bay Bullfrogs. Multiple South Division teams play tomorrow before the first half officially ends.
The makeup date for tonight's game will be on Saturday, August 8 when the Mallards return to Copeland Park for two, 7-inning affairs. The first game will commence at 5:05 p.m. and gates will open at 4 p.m.
With one playoff spot given away, La Crosse has three more oppourtunities to move on to the postseason. The winner of the second-half earns a spot, as usual, but this year, the Northwoods League is adding two wild card spots for each division. The wild card spots are won by two next best overall records, making a 4-team playoff per division. If the same team wins both divisions, the three next best overall records win the wild card spots.
The Loggers have their first off day tomorrow, and return to Copeland on Wednesday, July 1st to open the second-half off against the Green Bay Bullfrogs. Game time is 7:05. Come out to the Lumberyard for Jimmy Buffet Night, presented by The Ground Round!
