Kalamazoo, Mich. – The red hot Loggers won their fourth straight contest, this one over the Kalamazoo Growlers 3-1. Kevin Flemer got the win, moving him to
Mason McCoy (Iowa) and Will Savage (Columbia) started off the game with singles to put two on with no on out. On error by the shortstop allowed McCoy to score on Jordan Pearce’s (Nevada) at-bat.
Chris Baker extended the lead in the 4th inning with a two-run home run, scoring Jordan Zimmerman (Michigan State).
Kalamazoo fought back with three singles to open the 5th inning. But, they only managed a run of a sacrifice fly to right field. The run cut the Logger lead to 3-1
Kevin Flemer (Oregon State) looked like an ace tonight. He pitched 7.0 strong innings, only allowing one lone run on four hits. He walked three and struck out three more.
Ty Provencher (Long Beach State) sealed the deal to earn his 11th save of the season.
Winners of four straight, the Loggers moved to 11-7 in the half and 30-22 overall. Kenosha and Madison both rained out in their games so La Crosse moved up to just a .5 game behind Kenosha for the second half championship.
