Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc. – The Rafters knocked off the Loggers 11-4 in Witter Field. Jack Riley got the victory for Wisconsin Rapids, going six scoreless.

The Rafters struck first in the 2nd inning. Billy Clemens (Gateway CC) walked two batters and hit another to load the bases with one out. Bryce Jordan (LSU) singled to left to bring in the first run. Zack Domingues (Long Beach State) cleared the bases with a 3-RBI double.

Wisconsin Rapids added four more off Graham Spraker (Quincy). Jake Sandlin doubled in Ryan Cleveland in the 3rd. Beau Jordan brought in the 6th run on a triple to the right field corner. Jake Sandlin doubled in another run in the 5th making it four straight innings where the Rafters had scored at least one run.

Jack Riley was on fire tonight for the Rafters. In six scoreless innings pitched, he struck out five while only given up one hit.

Will Savage (Columbia) put the Loggers on the board when he singled Keith Skinner (North Florida) in on a two-out single.

The Loggers put up a fight in the final at-bats. Alex Shake also singled and scored on a wild pitch. Chris Baker (Washington) brought it in Jordan Zimmerman (Michigan State) on a sacrifice fly. Keith Skinner also singled in the fourth run of the game.  But it wasn’t enough as the Rafters took the game 11-4.

The loss drops the Loggers to 12-8 in the second half, breaking their five-game winning streak. Kenosha, with their win extended their lead over the Lumbermen to two games. Madison rained out so the Loggers fall to fourth place overall with 31-23 record.

The Loggers return to Copeland tomorrow night to face the Rafters before the All-Star Break. Game time is 5:05. Gates open at 4.
