La Crosse, Wisc. – Ronnie Gideon (Texas A&M) won the game for the Loggers on a walk off solo home run in the 9th as La Crosse takes the game 4-3. Brandon Lawson (South Florida) and Jordan Jess (Minnesota) pitched very well in the win.

The Lumbermen struck first in the 2nd inning. Luis Trevino (Navarro) walked with two outs. Grant Fennell (Nevada), in his first start since his oblique injury earlier this season, doubled over the centerfielder, scoring Trevino from first. Mason McCoy (Iowa) and Jordan Zimmerman (Michigan State) both singled to bring in two more runs.

A leadoff walked scored for the Rafters in the top of the 3rd. Ernie Clement (Virginia) singled to right for the RBI hit.

Brandon Lawson was lights out the rest of his start, going six innings on six hits. He also struck out six on 106 pitches.

John Jaeger (Pacific) for the Rafters and Jordan Jess kept the game tied. Five straight innings were scoreless, very peculiar to Logger home games this season.

Ronnie Gideon went around on a check swing for the first pitch, but he did not miss the second one. The second pitch was sent over the fence for a walk off home run. The win puts La Crosse at 13-8 for the second half and 32-23 overall. The Lumbermen have won 6 of their last 7 games.

The Loggers get a three day break for the All-Star game in Wisconsin Rapids. Monday and Wednesday are off days for all 18 teams and Tuesday for the All-Star Game festivities. Mason McCoy, Jordan Zimmerman, and Ty Provencher will be in Wisconsin Rapids for the All-Star Game at 7:05. McCoy will also be participating in the Home Run Challenge at 5:05 on Tuesday. The Loggers next game is Thursday, July 23rd in Madison. Game time is 7:05. Don’t forget to catch the game Thursday on the Logger Radio Network.
