La Crosse, Wisc. – Mason McCoy (Iowa) broke the single season Northwoods League runs record in the 5th inning during tonight’s game against the Battle Creek Bombers.

Mason tied the record when he singled and scored on a double by Brock Lundquist in the 3rd inning. His next at-bat, Mason was hit by a 2-2 pitch. Lundquist moved him to third on a single. Jordan Pearce brought him home on a single to center field.

Mason ended the night 2-for-4 with 3 runs total to bring his run total to 70.

The next record to be broken is the Northwoods League single season hits record. Mason has 96 hits and is 12 hits away from the record holder, Luis Rivera, who had 107 hits for the Waterloo Bucks in 1995.
