Thunder Bay, Ont.- The Loggers shutout out the winless Border Cats to win their third straight ball game this season.

Mason McCoy (Iowa) led the game off with a double, followed two walks in the next two batters to load the bases with one out in the 1st inning. The Border Cats threw McCoy out on a force out at home, but could not stop the Loggers from scoring. Kevin Collard (San Diego) was hit by a pitch, two pitches later to score Casey Danley (Illinois Central).

Casey Danley and Gavin Johns (Yavapai) singled back-to-back to start the third inning. Later in the inning with the bases loaded, Lorenzo Hampton Jr. (California) grounded into a double play, but it was good enough to score Danley for the second time on the night to put La Crosse up 2-0.

Mason McCoy extended the Logger lead to three in the 8th inning by singling in Ramon Padilla (Illinois Central). Griffin Conine (Duke) brought in another insurance run in the 9th, putting the Lumbermen up four.

One run was all Nick Raquet (William & Mary) needed. He threw 8.0+ innings of scoreless baseball on three hits. He walked a batter, and struck out five. He earned his first win of the season (1-1). Brandon Langan (Sacramento City) took the loss (0-3).

The Loggers get back to .500 ball in the win (6-6). Thunder Bay falls to 0-12.

La Crosse heads back home for a home/away series with Rochester starting tomorrow. Catch the Loggers at Copeland Park for the 5:05 pm matchup. Gates open at 4 pm.
