Rochester, Minn.- La Crosse wins its fifth straight win, sweeping the home/away series versus the Honkers.

Mason McCoy (Iowa) led the game off with a full count home run. The Honkers tied the game up in the inning when four batters walked in five at-bats, scoring Rochester left fielder, Troy Traxler (Minnesota).

The Loggers took back the lead with three singles scoring three runs in the 2nd. Gavin Johns (Yavapaii) added to the lead in the 3rd with a single to center field, scoring McCoy and Garrett Zech (South Florida).

Garrett Zech brought in another insurance run with a sacrifice fly to left in the 5th inning that scored Jake Hirabayashi (UCLA). Alex Fitchett (Hawaii) cancelled out the run for the Honkers in the bottom half of the 5th with a single scoring Miles Lewis (North Dakota).

Gavin Johns (Yavapaii) and Lorenzo Hampton Jr. (California) went 3-for-5 for La Crosse in the win. 

La Crosse added another in the 7th inning, sealing the game to give the Loggers the 8-2 win. La Crosse swept the Honkers, tying the season series at 2-2.

The Lumbermen head home for a six game homestand. The first visitor to Copeland Park is the Lakeshore Chinooks. Game tomorrow is 7:05, gates open at 6 o’clock.
