La Crosse, Wisc.- La Crosse score two unanswered runs to defeat Kenosha for the 1st time this season, 4-3.

In the 2nd inning, Gunnar McNeil (Kentucky) hit a solo home run over the left field wall to give Kenosha an early 1-0 lead.

Two singles and a hit batter loaded the bases for Lorenzo Hampton Jr. (California) with one out. He singled to left field. That scored Mason McCoy (Iowa) and Garrett Zech (South Florida).

Two walks loaded the bases after a one out single by Cullen Jozwiak (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi). Pat McInerney (Illinois) grounded to 3rd base, but a hard slide at 2nd base by Marty Bechina (Michigan State) forced an error on Logger 2nd baseman Justin Wylie. Two Kingfish scored on the play, taking back the Kenosha lead 3-2.

Zach Kesterson (Duke) pitched 5 innings for La Crosse, giving up 3 runs, 1 earned, on 3 hits and striking out 4 more. He took a no decision for the start.

Griffin Conine (Duke) led off the 5th inning with a double to deep right-center field. Lorenzo Hampton Jr. once again was there to bring him in. That tied that game up at 3 apiece.

Garrett Zech led off the 7th inning by hitting a 1-0 pitch off the scoreboard. It was his 1st home run of the season. Garrett also saved the Logger lead when a Cullen Jozwiak single looked to be scoring the potential go-ahead run. Zech threw a bullet from center field to tag out Micah Coffey (Minnesota) at home plate.

Andrew Perez came into the game in the top of the 9th and shut down the Kingfish for his 3rd save of the season.

Dave Smith (Long Beach State) picked up his 1st win of the season (1-0). Chase Thurston takes his 1st loss (0-1).

La Crosse gets back to its winning ways, moving to 12-7 on the season; Kenosha falls to 7-12.
