Madison, Wisc. – Five Loggers participated in game one of the Major League Dreams Showcase at Warner Park in Madison.
Dave Smith (Long Beach State) shined in his two scoreless innings of work. He walked a batter with three strikeouts, while giving up no hits.
Nick Raquet (William & Mary) followed Smith in the 7th. He gave up 1 run on 1 hit and two walks in his inning of work.
Mason McCoy (Iowa) went 0-for-4 with a RBI sacrifice fly in the 9th. He also had 3 groundouts and a fly out.
Griffin Conine (Duke) went 1-for-5 with a single in the 3rd. He scored two batters later on a single by Drew Ellis (Rochester).
Cason Sherrod (Texas A&M) pitched the 8th inning. He gave up 3 runs (2 earned) on 1 hit and a walk. Those three runs gave the Visiting Team a 6-3 lead.
The visiting team won the 4:05 game 6-5 over the Loggers’ home team.
The Loggers return home for a home game against the North Division-leading Mankato MoonDogs. Game time tomorrow is 7:05 PM. Gates open at 6 PM.
