LA CROSSE, WI – The La Crosse Loggers were ready to play host to the St. Cloud Rox in a two-game series. After going 0-2 in St. Cloud the Loggers were hoping to return the favor and hand them back two losses in La Crosse. Logger fans were more than ready for an exciting night at The Lumberyard and that's just what the Loggers gave them with a 16-4 win over the Rox.

Playing a major role in the win over the Rox was RHP Derik Beauprez (Nova Southeastern). Beauprez would toss 7.0 innings allowing just two runs on six hits and sitting down four batters. This gem of a performance would be followed up by Grant Ford (Nevada) coming in for 2.0 innings of relief. The Logger bats exploded tonight, espeically in the bottom of the first inning. Thus, RHP Carlo Graffeo would be handed the loss after pitching only 0.2 innings.

With eight out of nine Loggers getting a hit tonight, the bats of the Loggers could not be kept under control. 18 total hits would be put on the scoreboard tonight for the home team. Some of the outstanding performances at the plate included Ryan Mantle (Creighton) going 2-for-4 with four RBI partially thanks to a three-run shot over left field fence, Korey Lee (California) going 4-for-6 with two doubles and a RBI, Nick Schranck (UT-Rio Grande Valley) going 4-for-5, Garrett Christman (Butler) going 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI, and Connor Perry (Pittsburgh) going 2-for-4 with a three-run bomb over right-center field fence.

The Loggers look to make it two wins in a row over the Rox tomorrow with game two's first pitch set at 7:05 PM. Fridays mean two things "Happy Hour" with HOWIE'S ON LACROSSE and FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA presented by FESTIVAL FOODS following the game! Gates will open at 6:00 PM. See you at The Lumberyard!
