LA CROSSE, WI – Trying to bounce back after a tough loss on the road at Eau Claire, the Loggers hosted the Express tonight. It was a beautiful night for baseball, but the action on the field did not go in favor of the La Crosse Loggers. Attempting to fight back in the late innings, the La Crosse Loggers would fall short as they lose 3-7 to the Eau Claire Express.

RHP Garrett Christman (Butler) would start on the mound tonight for the Loggers pitching 5.0 innings allowing four runs on six hits. RHP Andrew Owen (Villanova) would come in for 3.0 innings of relief and hold the Express to zero runs on two hits, but unfortunately it would not be enough. The opposing Express pitchers would hold the Loggers offense to just three runs on six hits. As a result, Christman would be handed the loss dropping him to 1-2 with a 5.75 ERA on the season and LHP Gerry Salisbury would score the win.

It was another quiet one at the plate for the Loggers. However, there was one player that continued to make a little noise offensively. David Villar (South Florida) went 2-for-5 tonight with two doubles. Villar scored twice for the Loggers. With his performance tonight, this moves him to the top of the team stats for batting average with a .375.

The Loggers will now go on a three-game road trip before returning to The Lumberyard on Saturday, June 24 against the Willmar Stinger. First pitch is set for 6:05 PM and gates will open at 5:00 PM. It is One-HIt Wonders Night with WINONA RADIO. Saturdays also call for "Happy Hour" with HOWIE'S ON LA CROSSE!
