LA CROSSE, WI – Hoping to bounce back after a two-game losing streak, the La Crosse Loggers started game one of a two-game homestand against the Bismarck Larks. The Loggers displayed a solid game of baseball all-around, which would result in an 11-3 win.
RHP Cody Ebert (Columbia College) had a great night on the mound for the Loggers, as he pitched 5.0 innings allowing three runs on six hits and sitting down seven Larks. This performance would be enough to earn the win moving him to 3-2 on the season with a 6.97 ERA. Chris Boettcher (Indianapolis), Sam Messina (Army), Hunter Davis (Duke), and Joe Rosenstein (Washington State) all pitched one inning of relief to help secure the Loggers win. RHP Andy Lalonde would be handed the loss tonight for the Larks.
After a couple nights of quiet bats, the Loggers' offense made some noise at the plate tonight. Tallying 14 total hits as a team, the Loggers were able to put up 11 runs, many of which came from some crucial errors by the Larks. Leading the way at the plate tonight was Grant Judkins (Iowa) going 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI, David Villar (South Florida) going 3-for-5, Luke Rasmussen (Long Beach State) going 2-for-4 with one RBI, Jake Hirabayashi (UCLA) going 2-for-3 with three RBI, and Cameron Cannon (Arizona) going 2-for-4.
