Loggers Sign Sluggers from South Carolina and Butler

Jordan Holladay, Harrison Freed added for 2018

La Crosse, Wis. – The La Crosse Loggers Baseball Club announced Monday the signing of two position players to full season contracts. As college baseball season gets underway, the Loggers have added Jordan Holladay from the University of South Carolina and Harrison Freed from Butler University.

Jordan Holladay is a freshman corner infielder that attended Sumter High School in South Carolina. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound right hander earned All-Region all four seasons and was a First Team All-State selection twice during his prep career. Holladay displays the ability to hit for average and for power as he batted .388 with eight home runs, 10 doubles and 30 RBI in his senior season. He helped Sumter to a state championship in 2014 and a perfect 10-0 regional record in 2017. Holladay was also named to the USA Today High School Sports American Family Insurance All-USA South Carolina First Team last season. The Loggers new addition was rated by Perfect Game as the number 15 overall prospect and the top ranked third baseman out of the state of South Carolina for 2017. Holladay has made five appearances in the young season for the 6-2 Gamecocks, picking up his first collegiate hit last week.

Harrison Freed is a sophomore outfielder that has burst onto the scene to start the season for Butler University. The Westfield, Indiana native is batting .379 with five doubles, a pair of triples, and 13 RBI as the starting leftfielder for the Bulldogs thus far in 2018. Butler remains a perfect 8-0 and is outscoring opponents 64-22 on the season. Freed is a 5-foot-11 right handed hitter that also made a strong impact for the Bulldogs as a freshman last season as he batted .306 in 25 appearances. A consistent hitter at the plate, Freed shined last summer in the Cal Ripken League as he hit .330 with seven home runs and 29 RBI for the D.C. Grays. The Loggers will hope to see Freed repeat his strong 2017 when he arrives at beautiful Copeland Park this summer.

The addition of Holladay and Freed continues to shape the Loggers roster for the upcoming season as the Northwoods League prepares to celebrate its 25th anniversary of baseball!
