Loggers sign a pair of arms from Nebraska
La Crosse, Wis. – The La Crosse Loggers are happy to announce the signing of two pitchers from the University of Nebraska to the 2020 roster. Left handed pitcher Ethan Bradford and right handed pitcher Kyle Wisch will join the Loggers pitching staff on full season contracts this summer.
Ethan Bradford is a freshman from Lawrence, Kan. that attended Free State High School prior to his commitment to the Huskers. The 6-foot-3 southpaw had a dominant prep career on the mound, posting a 8-2 record with a 2.29 earned run average his junior season, followed by a 7-1 win-loss, 0.56 ERA, and 81 strikeouts in his senior campaign. Bradford helped lead his team to a regional title and runner-up finish at the Class 6A state tournament in 2019, tossing a no-hitter in the first game of the state tournament. Bradford earned pitcher of the year honors for Class 6A and the Sunflower League, and was a first-team all-state selection.
Bradford will be joined by his new Huskers teammate, freshman right handed pitcher Kyle Wisch. A native of Clarendon Hills, Ill., Wisch joins Nebraska out of Hinsdale Central High School. With a 6-foot-4, 225 pound frame, Wisch will light up the radar gun at Copeland Park this summer with a 90+ mph fastball. Although he was forced to miss the 2019 season due to injury, Wisch earned all-conference honors in 2018 and returned to play for the Chi Town Cream in the summer of 2019. The Glencoe, Ill. prep summer club finished with a 43-4-1 record and placed second in the Perfect Game World Series. Wisch is listed as the No. 13 RHP and No. 42 overall prospect out of the state of Illinois for the class of 2019 according to Perfect Game.
The pair of Huskers are the first members of the 2020 Loggers pitching staff announced thus far as we approach the 2020 season. Be sure to check out the Loggers schedule and reserve your ticket packages online or by calling our Loggers front office at (608) 796-9553.
