MoonDogs win 2-1 in 10 innings

For the second consecutive night at the Frank, the focus of the game was on the pitching rather than hitting. After last nights amazing performances from Tichota and Camacho, returning starter Jason Conrad for the MoonDogs and Ben Stanczyk of the Loggers matched each other pitch for pitch for the first 6 innings.

Tied at 1-1 after 6, the Loggers turned to their bullpen while Coach Rupert stayed with Conrad. It was a wise decision as Conrad finished the Loggers off through the 9th with the score still tied.

After going 9 innings, allowing just 4 hits and striking out 10, it was on to the 10th, when Ryan Hamilton came on in relief for Conrad and shut down the Loggers in order. In the bottom half of the inning, Ryan Chiarelli walked with one out, and reached second on a balk. Jeremiah Piepkorn stepped up to the plate and smashed a double down the left field line, scoring Chiarelli and winning the game for the MoonDogs.

Hamilton picked up the win and Josh Schultz for Loggers got the loss.

Next up for the MoonDogs are the Huskies from Duluth, Saturday Night at the Frank.
