In a wild game at Mayo Field, the MoonDogs held on for a 14-13 win against the Rochester Honkers in the first game of the second half.

The Dogs opened the scoring with 7 runs in the first inning, knocking out starter Mike Fitch before he could finish the first inning. Fitch faced 10 batters and walked 6 before leaving the game.

The Honkers returned the favor by scoring 6 in the bottom of the first, chasing MoonDogs starter Scott Fogelson before he could get out of the first. Ryan Hailton came on to save the day for the Dogs, pitching 6.2 innings, striking out 8 and picking up the win. Travis "Starfish" Johnson closed out the game picking up his 2nd save of the season.

Leading the outburst for the Dogs was Matt McColgan who had 3 hits, including his first homer of the season, and 4 RBI. Jeremiah Piepkorn continued to stay on fire with 2 hits including his 4th homer of the season.
