It didn’t take the MoonDogs long to continue their offensive outburst of the last few games. Starting the scoring off in the bottom of the first and scoring at least 1 run in each of the first 5 innings of the game, gave MoonDogs pitcher Clay Tichota more than he needed to pick up his 3rd victory of the season. The MoonDogs went on to win 9-4.
The top three hitters in the MoonDogs lineup jumped all over the Beetles pitching going 7 for 15, including 3-5 performances from Aaron Grant and Jonny Ash. Jeremiah Piepkorn extended his home run streak to 3 games, putting him at 6 for the season and 1 behind the league lead.
Tichota pitched 6 strong innings showing masterful control as he struck out 8 and walked no one. Philip Springman came in and shut down a late inning rally by the Beetles getting 2 key strikeouts with the bases loaded. Travis Johnson worked the ninth to finish off the game.
Tomorrow night will be a rematch between the same two teams, same MoonDogs time, same MoonDogs channel. Game time is 7:05 @ the Frank
