Animals of Mankato beware, the MoonDogs have opened hunting season.

After shooting down the Waterloo Bucks last night in Waterloo, 3-2, the MoonDogs return home today with their sights set on the Honkers of Rochester, and are paitently waiting for the Madison Mallards to fly into town on Sunday.

Will Krout’s domination of opposing hitters continued last night, as he threw 8 2/3 innings scattering 6 hits and allowing only 2 runs. He improved his record to a league tying 6-1, with a miniscule 1.29 ERA. Philip Springman came in and got the save.

Jeremiah Piepkorn stayed hot for the MoonDogs going 2-4 along with Jonny Ash. Ash singled in the game-winning run in the top of the 7th inning.

Ryan Chiarelli saw his first action since breaking his nose on Monday, going 1-3 in the game.

Tonight starts the begining of a 4 game home stand for the MoonDogs. Game time is 7:05
